Introduction
The Amazon Rainforest is a biome with extraordinary biodiversity. It is home to thousands upon thousands of discovered species, as well as many that have not yet been discovered. It stretches across a significant portion of the South American mainland, and it is complimented by the powerful Amazon River. However, the biodiversity of the Amazon is in a threatened state. Industries such as logging, farming, and cattle ranching have begun to encroach on the biome. The ecosystem of the Amazon lies in a delicate balance, and one misguided action could send it tumbling into ruin.
